Privacy Policy

AJB Media Ventures, Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Be Still Card website at bestillcard.com (the "Site") and the Be Still Card mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.

By using the Site, the App, or purchasing a Be Still Card, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account, place an order, or contact us, we may collect:

  • Account information: Name, email address, and password.
  • Order information: Shipping address, billing address, and payment details. Payment card data is processed by our third-party payment processor and is never stored on our servers.
  • Communication data: Any information you include when you email us, submit a support request, or respond to a survey.
  • Church/group information: If you place a bulk order or create a Small Group, we may collect your church or organization name and group member names or email addresses.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App or visit the Site, we may automatically collect:

  • Device information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and language settings.
  • Usage data: Focus session history (mode selected, duration, timestamps), Daily Walk streaks, Stewardship Score, Hours Reclaimed totals, and devotional content viewed.
  • NFC interaction data: Timestamps of card taps (to initiate focus sessions).
  • Site analytics: Pages visited, referral source, browser type, and IP address (collected via privacy-respecting analytics tools).

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what we do not access or store:

  • Screen Time data from Apple: The App uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks to manage app restrictions on your device. These frameworks operate locally on your iPhone. We do not receive, transmit, or store any information about which specific apps you have installed, how much time you spend in individual apps, or your Screen Time passcode. All Screen Time data stays on your device and under Apple's control.
  • Content of your communications: We do not read your messages, emails, calls, or browsing history.
  • Location data: The App does not request or collect your geographic location.
  • Contacts or photos: The App does not access your contacts, camera roll, or photo library.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. Apple Screen Time and Family Controls

This section is important because it addresses how the App interacts with sensitive system-level features on your iPhone.

The Be Still Card App requests authorization to use Apple's Family Controls and Screen Time APIs. When you grant this authorization, the App can restrict access to categories of apps (such as Social, Entertainment, Games, and others) during active focus sessions. Here is how this works:

All processing is local. When you start a focus session (by tapping your Be Still Card or through a Smart Schedule), the App sends instructions to Apple's on-device Screen Time framework telling it which app categories to restrict. This happens entirely on your iPhone. No information about your installed apps or their usage leaves your device.

We use opaque tokens. Apple's Family Controls API provides "opaque" application tokens — meaning the App can reference an app category (e.g., "Social Networking") without ever knowing the specific apps in that category on your device. We cannot see and do not store a list of your installed apps.

You control authorization. You can revoke the App's Screen Time authorization at any time through your iPhone's Settings. Doing so will prevent the App from managing app restrictions, but your account and all other features will continue to work.

Apple's requirements. Our use of these APIs complies with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and the Family Controls framework documentation. We do not use Screen Time data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than providing the focus session functionality you have requested.

4. Data Sharing

We share personal information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Payment processing: We share order and payment details with our payment processor to complete transactions. They handle your payment card data under their own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance obligations.
  • Shipping: We share your name and shipping address with our fulfillment and shipping partners to deliver your order.
  • Small Groups: If you join a Small Group, other members of that group will see your first name and session activity (e.g., that you completed a 2-hour Family Time session). They will not see your email, address, or any other personal details.
  • Legal obligations: We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business transfers: If AJB Media Ventures, Inc. is acquired, merges with another company, or sells substantially all of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not share personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or social media platforms.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or fraud prevention purposes (typically up to 7 years for financial transaction records). Aggregated, de-identified data that cannot be tied back to you may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.

6. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), secure storage of account credentials (hashed and salted passwords), access controls limiting employee access to personal data, and regular review of our security practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Service at your own risk.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian sets up the App on a child's device, the parent's account and information are used — the child does not need to create a separate account. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at hello@bestillcard.com and we will promptly delete that information.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 Access and Correction

You can access and update your account information at any time through the App's Settings. If you need assistance, contact us at hello@bestillcard.com.

8.2 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us at hello@bestillcard.com. We will process your request within 30 days.

8.3 Email Communications

You may opt out of promotional emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any promotional email. You cannot opt out of transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, and critical service notices).

8.4 California Residents

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect about you, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@bestillcard.com.

8.5 European Residents

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data, and the right to restrict or object to certain processing. Our legal basis for processing your data is typically contract performance (to deliver the Service you requested) or legitimate interests (to improve the Service). 9. Third-Party Links

The Site or App may contain links to third-party websites (such as Bible translation publishers or church websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes to how we handle your personal information, we will notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
